Building

The creation of a bow composed of multiple woods has proven to be a valid alternative to the use of a single wood (yew, Osage, Elm).

After careful research I selected different Bamboos for the back, Hickory, Osage, Bolivian Ipe and Amaranth for the central part and for the belly.

An important help for the creation of the structural loads and for the design of the bow came from my aeronautical knowledge and modern engineering, which allowed to perfect the indications given by the builders of the 18th century, improving the distribution of the energy accumulated during the opening and obtaining a rapid and powerful release.

Each bow and its creation are a world in itself, each part is carefully chosen, in anticipation of the characteristics that are required.

The workmanship is exclusively by hand. The use of electric tools is reserved only for cutting the wood and the first roughing.

All the work on the bow is done using sandpaper pads, "rasere" (small steel plates with roughened edges to remove very thin layers of wood) and precision files.

A two-component epoxy resin for aeronautical use is used to glue the various parts, with perfect characteristics of stability, elasticity and resistance.
